I just acquired (actually, waiting for approval to take possession) a PM9, she's seasoned but looks OK to me. I don't see any tab on Kahr's web site to enter a serial number to confirm date of manufacture. The gun also has a trigger disconnect safety and load indicator so it's a MA compliant gun. PLEASE, those of you that have had problems with your P380's, let us know the serial numbers. For example if you sent it back and the Number was RA3xxx and you got a new one back and the number was RC4xxx, that would help some of us that might make a mistake and buy a RA3 series gun. Word for mac shortcut em dash.

Guest | Beware of Powrballs: I'm carrying a Walther P5c for ccw and at first I used it with FMJ rounds without any problems but when I began to use Federal JHP I noticed It failed to feed the first round in a full magazine, It happened with Fiocchi JHP too so I used the first round in the top FMJ and the others below JHP. Last year I tried Cor-Bon JHP and PowR'balls because I wanted to carry hotter and 'reliable to feed' stuff, but had a strange failure. The rounds tilted or flipped inside the magazines causing it to stop working. At first I thought it was a weak magazine spring issue but after changing them and repeating the test several times with the Cor-Bons jhp and PowR'Balls I had the same failure. I also tried changing the recoil springs and still the same failure. So I began trying with every kind of JHP I could find and I realized that all JHP with a short design bullet shape caused some kind of failure. The ones that turn out right for me were: Remington Golden Saber 124gr, Speer Gold Dot 124gr and the Federal EFMJ 105gr. The Federal Hidrashock 124gr caused a couple of failures. So nowadays I'm carrying the P5c loaded with Golden Sabers 124 gr +P. Flawless. |

- I have a used Kahr PM9 on its way. It is Serial Number IA22xy (left off last two numbers for confidentiality) It was Purchased New on 02/17/09. I will be the second owner. First owner says he ran though about 500 rounds and has never had a problem. I talked to two local Virginia Gun Dealers.
